Time and time again it comes to light how little many of us think of ourselves. This has been touched on in a variety of ways and it is one of those powerful topics that can always be revisited to gain a new perspective and a fresh way of utilising the benefits of this very simple saying "I am awesome!" I have lost count the amount of times I sit down with a client and hear the words of how they know they are amazing and I can see in their eyes that glaze of disbelief; even to the point that they cannot believe it had even left their lips as though it was some big secret or something that should never be spoken about. Knowledge is not belief and when it comes to 'being awesome' it makes all the difference. Let's put this in better perspective with the rest of our lives... We give so much of ourselves in everything we do. For those that are parents, your life is given to your children with every waking moment consumed on getting the best, and for others that have other priorities, be it a career that has taken a lot of blood, sweat and tears, or a relationship that has seen you go to the ends of the earth to make it work. We do these things without even a second thought. It is as though it is expected and we put ourselves on the line to ensure it happens. But underneath it all, we feel exhausted, frustrated, stressed and wanting something in addition to what we have dedicated ourselves to - we feel selfish and we tell ourselves as much. We then proceed to push this away and dedicate twice as much creating a void between this voice that constantly appears to the obligations we tell ourselves we "have" to meet. The irony of it all is that you can appreciate yourself without diminishing the dedication and love to what is important. To compound this even further, in doing so it will fufiill the void and create a sense of peace-removing frustration, exhaustion and even a level of stress. So, how can you get some of 'being awesome'? As I have mentioned previously, start simple. Your life is a journey so there are plenty of opportunities to fine tune a method that works unique to you. Start by looking in the mirror every morning and saying aloud "I am awesome". It may feel ridiculous and silly. In a week you will notice the difference. When you are ready to take it to the next level add these wonderful three words to everything you do, irrelevant if you believe a meeting or event went horribly wrong. Again, it will feel ridiculous at first and there is no doubt that a voice will be going off in your head questioning what you are doing. When you feel awesome there is no need for logic because everything will fall into place with the greatest of ease. When you persist you will reap the benefit within days, weeks and in months, these three words will be part of your every day vocabulary. Have some fun with these three words, mix it up and change it to the powerful words that work for you. There are no limitations to how amazing and awesome you are. Yell it out with me - "I am Awesome" - own it, love it - be it!
