When you join the Australian Women's Mentoring Network, the very first thing you should do is set up your personal, business or coaching profile.  This is your advertisement to the outside world!  Here you can register as a mentor, mentee or both; include a mentor or business summary, your website, publish articles, and upload your image or business logo for display on the Business Directory or Find a Coach page (depending on your membership). 

This information is important not only if you are registering as a mentor, business or coach, but also as a mentee, as you can send the mentors you contact a link to your profile so they can find out more about you.

Setting up Your Profile

When you first login to the AWMN website you will be taken to your main profile page.  You'll notice there are a number of tabs which, when completed, will contain information about you.  What you see on this page under each tab is what others will see if they visit your profile page (i.e. if you register as a mentor, business, coach or send somebody the link to your page).

To edit your details, click the grey edit button at the top of your profile page.  Here is a summary of what you'll find under each tab and how you can maximise your AWMN membership.

My Details

This tab contains your basic contact information and is where you can change your username, email address and password.  You can also upload an image of yourself here, which we encourage you to do if registering as a coach, business member or mentor.  You can also change your anonymity status at the bottom of the page so you can opt to display your full name, username only, and image during mentor, business or coach searches.  We recommend you do display your name if you have a business or coach membership, as this helps to promote your business.  You will notice that only your image, city, state and name option are included on the public profile (and not any of the other personal details).

My Mentoring

For many of you, this will be one of the most important tabs to complete!  Here is where you indicate if you want to be a mentor, mentee or both (or you can choose not to register for mentoring if you have joined as a Business or Coaching Member).  Please note that if you choose to be a mentor or both mentor/mentee your mentor summary will become visible on our Find a Mentor search page!  At the very least, please complete your mentor summary at the same time!  You will also be able to indicate your industry/profession, your areas of skill or expertise, your career and life achievements and any qualifications you have.  This will give a potential mentor or mentee (or client if registering as a coach or business member) some additional details about you.

One more important thing about this tab - here is where you indicate if you are or are not accepting mentees at the moment.   You can come back and edit this whenever you want to notify potential mentees of your availability.

My Business (Business & Coaching Members Only)

This is where you set up the details of your business if you have registered with the AWMN as a Business or Coaching member.  As soon as you register, your business profile is listed on our Business Directory (and Find a Coach page if registered with a Coaching Membership), so it's important to set up your Business profile straight away.  Include your full business details - your name, location, website, industry, business logo and business summary will be published publicly on the website for the thousands of visitors who come to our site every month to view.  You also have the option to offer a discount for your services for AWMN members (only viewable by logged in members).  Only members who contact you via the message system within the website (thus proving they are bonafide members) can claim your discount!

My Alerts

The AWMN has a number of mailing lists that you can subscribe to, ranging from networking events to being notified when new mentors, businesses or coaches join, or new resources (including articles and worksheet templates).  You are automatically subscribed to all of them when you first join, so it's a good idea to go to this tab and customise the information you would like to receive.  You can opt in or out of any of these lists at any time.

My Articles (Business & Coaching Members Only)

On your main profile page, you will also notice that you have a My Articles tab.  If you are a business or coaching member we would love to promote you and your services by including relevant articles or worksheets/templates you have written on our website.  This is a fantastic way to increase your visibility within the AWMN community and promote your business publicly to the thousands of visitors to come to the AWMN website each week.  Any articles or templates you publish will be included in our  Resources Section and also be listed on your My Articles tab for visitors to your profile to click through and read.  Submit an article to be published here.

My Subscription

Your subscription details are located on this tab, giving you details on when your subscription is due for renewal, your upgrade possibilities (including a pro rata discount on membership upgrade) and a copy of your Tax Invoice receipt (so you can claim your membership on your tax return as professional development - if applicable!)
